20 February 2011 – National Council Resolutions

SOUTH AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC STUDENTS’ MOVEMENT
An affiliate of the INKATHA FREEDOM PARTY

RESOLUTIONS: 20 February 2011

The National Council of SADESMO [NACOSA] duly met on Sunday, 20 February 2011 in Durban.

1. SADESMO Expels NFP Crosstitutes

SADESMO remains 100% IFP – today, tomorrow and well into the future. The NACOSA ratified the NEC resolution (3) taken on 29-30 January 2011 that,

*The Birth of the NFP aka “The Friends of VZ”:

The NEC resolves:

  • Warmly welcomes the January 17, 2011 judgement of Judge Patel;
  • Condemns all attempts by NFP to hijack SADESMO from the IFP;
  • Affirms that SADESMO, in terms of its constitution and statutes, is an affiliate of the IFP Youth Brigade. Clause 30.4 unambiguously states; ‘The Movement shall be an IFPYB affiliate and shall further the aims and objectives of the IFP within Educational institutions, and shall promote and implement the IFP’s Education Policy at all levels.’
  • Does not recognise the NFP as a threat to the IFP, it is merely a party formed out of desperation, anger and calculated opportunism;
  • Calls upon all members of the IFP and SADESMO not to join the NFP;
  • Will embark on a mission to re-recruit all members who have joined the farce of a party, the NFP back into the IFP;
  • Affirms to take disciplinary action against all those whose actions have brought the name of the Movement into disrepute.

The NACOSA further adds:

  1. All members who have joined the NFP, and those who are members of other political parties other than the IFP are effectively expelled,
  2. Those who are deployed to the SRC on a SADESMO ticket, and are members of the NFP or any other political party other than the IFP are hereof recalled from office immediately.
  3. Strongly condemns the bogus meeting held earlier this year, under the guise of being a NACOSA, that sought to hijack SADESMO from the IFP in the NFP aka The Friends of VZ. The NACOSA dismisses the said meeting as nothing other than it being a casual gathering of friends and cronies hell bent sowing on disunity and confusion amongst our members and the general South African public.
