The IFP demands that the MEC of Sports and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla Saphetha she must ensure that water and toilet facilities are provided in Majuba Mhlungu Park in Sibongile in Dundee.
“It is a disgrace that only gym equipment is there in this park without water and toilets. There are no toilet facilities at the park, with residents and visitors forced to go elsewhere if nature calls. This is also another indication of poor planning by the MEC of Sports and Recreation and also the MEC of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs who recently handed over this park to the residents,” said IFP KZN Spokesperson on Sports and Recreation, Mr Nhlanhla Msimango, MPL.
“It is unbelievable that a park which is so popular does not have basic toilet amenities. It is pointless because no one can stay for very long due to the fact there is nowhere to go to the bathroom. Parks are wonderful places for people to exercise, take a walk and get away from the stresses of modern life. But they need the right facilities,” concluded Mr Msimango.
