#DATAMUSTFALL: IFP welcomes competition commission settlement with Vodacom

Mar 10, 2020 | Press Releases

The IFP welcomes the announcement made today by cellular service provider Vodacom in reducing the costs of data following a settlement agreement with the Competition Commission.

This is a step in the right direction which will not only see the reduction in the costs of data for all South Africans but an array of telecommunications opportunities which may be better accessed by all, in particularly rural communities.

We welcome the necessary relief consumers will experience over time, following this announcement.

We remain hopeful that the exorbitant costs of data in our country will drop.

The IFP continues to champion for the reduction of data costs as it not only brings relief to consumers but eases the burden of costs in doing business for small, micro and medium enterprises.
