Namhlanje kufanele ukuthi ngabe ngigqoke ingubo emnyama ewuphawu lokuzila njengoba kufana nokuthi sifelwe emnyangweni wezemfundo lapha KwaZulu-Natali ngoba lomnyango uyehluleka ukufeza izidingo zawo okumele uzenze. Lokhu kwenziwa ukwentuleka kobuholi obuqotho ekuphatheni lomnyango. Umuntu angasho angananazi ukuthi lomnyango ufaka nenkukhu enqunywe ikhanda.
As the IFP we are committed in eradicating the rule of man and substituting it with the rule of law. We believe that it is the duty of this government to uplift society as a whole paying special attention to the underprivilege, the victims of Apartheid while removing all social and economic hindrances preventing individuals from developing to the maximum their abilities and potentials.

Iqembu leNkatha lithi umnyango wezemfundo awuyeke ukugiya ezihlabathini zeNcome kodwa awunyusele othisha baka-Grade R imiholo njengoba namhlanje sizophasisa isabelo zimali somnyango wezemfundo. Umnyango kumele uthathe imali engango R11 million oyibekele ukubheke uhlelo lwamabhasi athutha abafundi eNquthu uyisebenzise ekunyuseleni othisha bakaGrade R amaholo.
THE LACK OF SANITATION IN SCHOOLS
Access to clean water and sanitation is a fundamental human right. We want the leadership of the KZN education department to be held accountable. One of the schools that the department has neglected is Qalakahle High School in Bhamshela. Toilets are over flowing and learners are forced to leave school early because there is no place to relieve themselves. It is really sad that the department is not giving much attention to this crucial issue. Sanitation has not been prioritised in the department’s development programmes. It is high time that the department earmarked special funding for hygiene and sanitation measures.
The underspending on infrastructure grant is of major concern. Underspending on the grant is inexcusable after so many years of slow infrastructure rollout, and with such a massive need for infrastructure in the province. It is an absolute travesty that the funds have not been spent. Heads should roll. We call for action against those who failed in doing their duties. Fairness demands the Premier, Willies Mchunu to take action against these officials.
NORMS AND STANDARDS
There is a law which requires school infrastructure to meet minimum Norms and Standards. Compliance with the Norms and Standards law is not possible without a properly costed budget – but it is also not possible without real and unwavering political will. LEARNER TRANSPORT
Ukuhlinzeka abafundi ngezinto zokuthutha ezisezingeni elifanele. Kumele sishayele ihlombe inhlangano elwela amalungelo abafundi kwezemfundo i-Equal Education ngokuthi ikwazile ukuphoqa umnyango wezemfundo ukuthi ugcine ukwazile ukuhlinzeka ngamabhasi ezikoleni eziyishumi nambili eNquthu. Noma sikubonga lokhu iqembu leNkatha likhathazekile ngokuthi lomnyango usahluleka ukuhlinzeka bonke abafundi ngezinto zokuthutha. Ukushona kwabafundi eMakhoso eMthwalume abashayiswa itekisi belinde imoto kamalume ebahambisa esikoleni kuwubufakazi okuqanda ikhanda ukuthi lomnyango uyehluleka ukuhlinzeka abafundi ngezinto zokuhamba.
Kudala iQembu leNkatha libuza ukuthi kungani abafundi baseMdletsheni eNkosini uMdletshe bengahlinzekwa ngezinto zokuthutha? Siyakhala nangaloluhlelo lwezikebhe ezingasebenzi abafundi abahlupheka nazo zikhona. Ungqongqoshe uzoqhosha ngokuthi banikeza abafundi amabhayisikile ukuthi baye ezikoleni. Loluhlelo lufana nomdlalo ngoba aluvikeli abafundi ezimweni ezinzima zesimo sezulu. Uma kunetha, kubanda noma lishisa umkhovu etsheni konke lokhu kuphelela kubona abafundi abahamba ngamabhayisikili. Uma linethile izulu kwezinye izindawo okubhajwa ngisho izimoto abafundi kumele bahambe kanjani ngamabhayisikili na?
FERRIES
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education has literally thrown R4-million into the water by buying eight ferries to take learners to school only to find that some of them cannot navigate some rivers and lakes. The eight ferry boats cost R520‚221.68 each. Only Nhlange Secondary School is currently using a ferry to take 23 learners to school. Enkovukeni Primary School used one last year before learners were moved to another school. Three of the ferries are stored at the Phumelela and Mafukuzela Gandhi circuit offices and the Ndwedwe Municipal Offices. Lokhu nje kukodwa kuwubufakazi bokuthi emnyangweni wezemfundo kukwamachanca kwampunzi edla emini. Ungqongqoshe uDlungwane akacacise ukuthi kwenzeka kanjani ukuthi loluhlelo lube nezinkinga zaloluhlobo?
LTSM
The IFP is concerned about the failure by the department of education to deliver books in schools on time. Njalo kuba nezinkinga zokuthi izincwadi azihanjiswa ngesikhathi. Kwesinye isikhathi kuyamangaza ukuthi kungani umnyango wezemfundo uhluleka ukuthumela izincwadi ngesikhathi ekubeni inkampani kabhiya ikwazi ukuthi ithumelele wonke amashibhi ubhiya ngesikhathi. Akukaze kuzwakale ukuthi ubhiya awufikanga emashibhini. Hlambe umnyango wezemfundo kungakuhle uhambele kulenkampani uyofunda kabanzi mayelana nokusatshalaliswa komkhiqizo wayo ngesikhathi esifanele.
We must minimize the use of third-party agencies in the distribution of text books and stationery, take for example Indiza which was awarded a multimillion rand tender to deliver text books in KwaZulu-Natal schools and never delivered. What is the way forward? The IFP believes that existing staff at schools across the country must be capacitated in the acquisition and supply processes.
UNEMPLOYED TEACHERS

Lokhu sikusho ngoba kunezikhalo eziningi zokuthi abantu abaneziqu zothisha abangafundanga ngaphansi kohlelo lomnyango wezemfundo iFundza Lushaka Bursary Scheme bona bashiywa ngaphandle ukuma kuqashwa ngoba abafundiswanga umnyango. Umbuzo uthike: Labo abaneziqu kodwa bengafundiswanga umnyango kumele baqashwe ngubani na? Sidinga impendulo ecacile kuNgqongqoshe uDlungwana ngaloludaba.
DEPLOYMENT POLICY
This policy has given rise to many educational evils. One, the educational agenda is subjected to the political agenda of the ANC. Two, wrong and incapable people are put into crucial and strategic positions. With all the money in the world, how does the department hope to achieve quality education if it is still seized with such defective deployment policy?
At the same time, there are clear lines of accountability. The Premier, as head of a province, has an obligation to hold MECs who fail in their constitutional duties accountable. Sikhathele ukuthi njalo uNgqongqoshe ngokomkhulumeli wakhe athi bazophenya njalo uma kunenkinga emnyangweni. Lokhu kuwubufakazi obuqanda ikhanda ukuthi kuduma upotiyane ezikhulwini zomnyango azazi ukuthi kwenzekani kulomnyango. Angeke sivume ukulawulwa abakhulumeni beminyango ngoba ababona osopolitiki. Angeke silawulwe ibona. Ongqongqoshe okumele bathwale amacala ngezenzo zabo.
SANITARY TOWELS
As the IFP support the provision of sanitary towels to poor girls. But the alleged corruption in this programme is a major of grave concern. There is no policy in place to regulate the distribution of these sanity towels. Siyavumelana nokuthi akuphenywe kabanzi ngaloluhlelo ukuthi ngobani abahlomulayo ngezimali njengoba isinkulu imali esetshenzisiwe kunaleyo ebikade ibekelwe loluhlelo. Amasela atamuza izimali zabakhokhi-ntela awafunwe aze atholwe bese ephonswa ejele ngaphandle kokunanaza.
