Somlomo,

Namhlanje sizokhuluma ngosuku lwamagugu ngesikhathi iNdlunkulu kanye nesiZwe sonkana sikaPhunga noMageba sisemanzini ngemumva kokudlula emhlabeni koMntwana uButho Zulu obetshalwa ngempelasonto esiphuma kuyona. Lelifu elimnyama eligubuzele isizwe sikaZulu siholele ekutheni kuhlehle uMkhosi weLembe kanye neMbizo ebihlelwe uNgangezwe Lakhe uHlanga Lomhlabathi. Sithanda ukudlulisa amazwi enduduzo kuBayede, iNdlunkulu yonkana kanye nesizwe sonke sikaZulu. Ukufa kudla fumuka kudle silaza.

Siyathanda ukubonga kuhulumeni wesifundazwe sakwaZulu-Natali ngokuthi uqhubeke nokweseka umkhosi wokugubha usuku lwamagugu esintu. Iqembu leNkatha lisamile ekutheni umkhosi weLembe akube umkhosi ozimeleyo bese kuthi umkhosi wosuku lwamagugu esintu kube umkhosi ohlanganisa zonke izinhlanga.

Celebrating heritage should be a 365 days project not only on the 24th September. We must be proud of our culture by wearing our traditional attire as it is the case with Swazi people who always wear their traditional attire. I see dressing in traditional garb as a way to show a genuine cultural appreciation for human diversity. Wearing these garments helps us show our affinity for the local and indigenous people, and they allow both parties to collectively understand that our similarities outweigh our differences.

Ngalelithuba sifisa ukuthi sinxuse uNdunankulu kanye nenhlangano yezaMafa ukuthi basheshise uhlelo lokuthi kwembulwe umfuziselo weLembe esikhumulweni sezindiza esiqanjwe ngalo iLembe iKing Shaka. Siyaziqonda izinkinga ezibekhona phambilini.

HERITAGE EDUCATION

If you want a child to be proud of their culture, they first have to understand it. Heritage education plays a key role in maintaining and celebrating our identity and establishing a foundation so that we can look with confidence to the future. If we want future generations to be tolerant and respectful of each other’s cultures and customs, we must first instil a sense of being proud of their own cultures, their own roots. Nakuba sikuncoma ukuthi zikhona izikole ezisazimbandakanye nomkhakha wezobuciko namasiko kodwa sigqugquzela uMnyango weZobuciko naMasiko ukuthi usebenzisane noMnyango weZemfundo ekufuqeni umkhankaso wokuthi izingane zifundiswe ngamasiko namagugu ezikoleni.

Izingane zethu azifundiswe ukuthi noma ungafunda uphumelele kangakanani ngokwezinga lempilo noma kumuphi umkhakha kodwa ukuqhakambisa imvelaphi yakho ngisho ezizweni kubalulekile. We commend young celebrities such as Jabulani Hadebe “Sjava” who won an international BET Awards, he stood out among all nominees with his distinctly Zulu inspired outfit, without fear of being ridiculed but instead the world celebrated and embraced his identity and African pride.

BROADCASTING INDUSTRY

Iqembu leNkatha likhathazekile ngemboni yezokusaka kanye nomabonakude kuleli ngokubonakala isembhidlangweni wokubulala izilimi njengoba kwenzeka kulenhlangano. Lokhu kugqama kakhulu kweminye yemidlalo kamabonakude lapho kunabalingisi abangakwazi ukukhuluma kahle izilimu zesintu njengesiZulu nje. Lokhu kuwukubulala kanye nokuthunaza izilimi uqobo. AmaNgisi angabantu abazigqajayo ngolimi lwabo njengoba enza isiqiniseko sokuthi ezinhlelweni zawo afaka abantu abalwazi kahle ulimi lwesiNgisi.

ANC GOVERNMENT MUST ACCEPT CRITICISM

ANC leaders will only be strong and effective once they start to accept criticism from other political parties. Taking criticism can be a difficult thing. It is equally important that the government accepts a role for the opposition, however small it may be in relation to the government, and that the media give space to the views of the opposition in their reports of the affairs of government. Whether this is the case or not, the opposition clearly has a very important role to play in a democratically elected legislature. Uma seluleka nangamasiko asilalelwe.

COLLECTIVE ON HERITAGE

It is this collective heritage that must also be at the centre of ongoing efforts to promote social cohesion, nation-building and reconciliation. This heritage must bind South Africans together towards a common national identity and a common South African consciousness.

IMFUNDISO NGOSIKO

Ukugxilisa imfundiso ngamasiko ezinganeni yenza kube nesizwe esibumbene, esinehlonipho kanye nokuba nesimilo. Lokhu kusiza ekutheni kube nomphakathi ophilayo ongenabugebengu, nokudlwengulwa kwezingane nogogo kanye nokuhlukunyezwa kwabesifazane. Nasendulo izinsizwa zazibuthwa nezintombi zazifundiswa ngokuziphatha.

Mina nje ngiyambonga uSomandla ongigcinele uMama intombi kaNgema uZibekile ozalwa yiNgulumanzi, uBhejamini ka Zibezwile ka Zembe kaMhlekehleke ka Madlokovu kumanje unamashumiayisishiyagalolunye nesikhombisa iminyaka (97).
