The IFP notes that the Bill establishes a framework for the continuation of the KwaZulu-Natal Joint Municipal Provident Fund. The framework is solely regulated by, aligned to and compliant with, the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, the nationally applicable Pension Funds Act, 1956 (Act No. 24 of 1956), and the principles of good governance.
We therefore, believe that this Bill including others are extremely important to finally eradicate all discrimination in KZN Municipalities as far as their pensions and retirement benefits are concerned.
