Eastern Cape bus crash: IFP extends condolences on tragic deaths

Mar 3, 2020 | Press Releases

The IFP extends our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the 25 passengers who had tragically died in a bus crash in the Eastern Cape, yesterday.

Road safety is once again in the spotlight and we urge the police and provincial traffic authorities to leave no stone unturned in their investigation of this crash and to hold those who are responsible to account.

Far too many lives are lost on our roads, across the country, mainly due to driver negligence, poor quality of roads built, and drunk and reckless behaviour of motorists.

It is important that justice is served to enable the families to find closure in knowing that those responsible for the tragic deaths and severe injuries of all passengers are held accountable for their actions.

The IFP furthermore wishes the 68 surviving passengers a speedy recovery as they are being treated for severe injuries at a nearby hospital.

May the souls of the deceased forever rest in perfect peace.
