Speaking from the National Youth Parliament which convened today in Kliptown, Soweto, Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade [IFPYB] National Treasurer, Mr Brian Masondo said, “Yesterday whilst during talks held before the convening of Youth Parliament today, we as the IFPYB called for the establishment of a Youth Ministry which would provide an all-inclusive platform from which the youth of our country could engage and be represented at National level on all issues affecting the country. Of particular import to us at the moment are the issues of employment and economic growth,” “We called, and will continue to call for the establishment of a Youth Ministry, as all previous attempts at giving the youth representation and standing at a National legislative level have been ineffective,” “And we therefore welcome the report of the Youth Parliament’s Commission on Youth and Economic Development today in which our proposal for a Youth Ministry has been accepted,” “We as the IFPYB wish to see a South Africa in which the voices of the youth are heard and not just paid lip-service.
