IFP: Celebrates After Taking Anc Ward 5 In Ntambanana

Jul 23, 2015 | Press Releases

The IFP is celebrating after trouncing the ANC in the bi-election at Ward 5 in Ntambanaba yesterday.
“The IFP won this ward even though the ANC used state resources when MEC for Social Development, Thusi came there the day before the bi-election and distributed blankets and food parcels in the hope of buying votes. Our people are intelligent and will no longer be fooled by these underhanded tactics. This is a victory for democracy as the people of Ward 5 have spoken through the ballot box. We thank the people of Ward 5 and all our volunteers for braving the heavy rains and cold conditions and showing up in their numbers to demonstrate the power of the democratic process. We will continue to serve the people of Ntambanana and do all that is necessary to improve their lives”’ said IFP National Chairman Hon Blessed Gwala MPL

“We are aware that there were some attempts at electoral fraud in the run-up to the bi-election. We urge the IEC to continue being vigilant and restore public confidence in the electoral process. The IFP victory in Ntambanana is a clear sign that the tide is turning in our favour and augurs well for the IFP as we approach the 2016 Local Government Elections. People have seen that the ANC/NFP coalition has not been successful in managing any municipality and are therefore returning to place their faith in the IFP as we have a proven track record of clean governance. The IFP does not just talk of ubuntu, we put our people first in all that we do. As a party we exist to serve the people of South Africa in the spirit of Ubuntu/Botho”’ concluded Hon Gwala.
