IFP Commemorates Down Syndrome Day

Oct 20, 2024 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party commemorates National Down Syndrome Day and celebrates every individual living with Down Syndrome. We as the IFP understands that Down Syndrome is not a disease.

People living with Down syndrome have actively participated in education, sports, arts, and community activities and excelled in them.

They are valued members of our communities and contribute meaningfully to society, forming the basis of what South Africa is -a Rainbow Nation.

On this day we encourage all South Africans to join in, on raising awareness about Down Syndrome. Let’s all challenge the misconceptions and stereotypes but promote unity, diversity and, a safer South Africa for people living with Down Syndrome.

Let us work together to create a brighter future for all, that celebrates the unique strengths of every individual in our beautiful country.
