Oct 25, 2017 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party would like to send its deepest condolences to the family of Inkosi Bhekamahlongwa Boy Khawula of the KwaHlongwa Clan who passed away on 20 October 2017 after a long illness.

Inkosi Khawula was a servant of his people and died serving them with aplomb. Inkosi Khawula was a loyal, committed and a member of the institution of traditional leadership in KZN. He was passionately involved in all aspects of community development. The role of traditional leadership is vital in ensuring quality, progressive development in our communities, particularly in rural areas.

The IFP has lost a loyal and committed Member who upheld the values of Ubuntu, integrity and servant leadership as espoused by the teachings of His Excellency Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi MP.

Local government, has a duty to ensure that the areas of Amakhosi also benefit from their service delivery projects. As mandated by government, their duty is to ensure that the communities they serve have access to water, dignified sanitation and roads, electricity, access to a conducive health-care system, ensure that children access education and programmes that will create job opportunities are implemented.

Inkosi Khawula was a key proponent of these developmental ideals and cooperation of all government spheres.

Inkosi Khawula was the brother to our colleague Hon Mntomuhle Khawula MP and the uncle to the National Chairperson of the IFP Youth Brigade, Hon Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP.

To the family of iNkosi Khawula, the KwaHlongwa Clan, relatives, uNdlunkulu MaMsomi and the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders we say that we are with you in this dark hour. But most importantly, God is with you; He is your pillar of strength in this time of bereavement.
