IFP Deeply Saddened by Lives Lost in Limpopo Collision

Mar 3, 2023 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) would like to offer its sincere condolences to the bereaved families and friends of the 21 people that have died in an accident on the R579 in Motetema, Limpopo. The collision involved two minibus taxis transporting pupils to school, as well as a heavy vehicle.

We further wish to also extend our condolences to the principal and staff of Dynamic Primary School, as it is our understanding that some of the victims were learners from this school.

As the IFP, are deeply saddened that yet more precious lives have been lost so violently. We again call on the Department of Transport to heed our pleas to increase police visibility on roads, to roll-out year-round road safety campaigns and to urgently repair the dilapidated roads and potholes that create hazardous conditions for motorists.

May their souls rest in peace.
