IFP By-election Victory in Ward 4 – Mtubatuba

May 24, 2018 | Press Releases

By Hon. N Singh MP
IFP Chairperson of the National Campaigns Committee

The IFP’s success in winning yesterday’s by-election shows that we are winning over the hearts and minds of our people across the country.

We congratulate our structures for a successful campaign and wish the incumbent Ward Councillor Mkhawuleni Zulu all the best in delivering on our promise of integrity and responsiveness in local government.

Significantly, we have increased our vote margin since 2016 and won over a Ward previously run by the ANC.

We welcome the significant growth of 47.1%, up from 36.7% in the last Local Government Election.

Despite the embattled KZN ANC trying to contest the validity of the by-election, the IEC has declared the outcome free and fair.

The IFP is growing and we thank each and every resident for coming out and showing their support.
