IFP Express Concern over “No Jobs for Indians” Social Media Post

Apr 20, 2018 | Press Releases

The recent internet publication of a flyer purportedly emanating from the Democratic Alliance [DA] entitled “Sorry, no job- You’re Indian” is causing great concern throughout the Indian community in South Africa.

IFP MP on Labour, Mr Xolani Ngwezi, said, ”After receiving an instruction from my Chief Whip in Parliament, Mr Narend Singh, MP, who had received numerous calls from IFP constituents as regards the publication and its contents , I immediately made enquiries with DA shadow deputy minister of labour, Mr Michael Baigram, MP. I was advised that the ‘flyer’ is fake news and does not emanate from the offices of the Democratic Alliance,”

IFP Chief Whip in Parliament, Mr Narend Singh, MP, said “Even though there is no substance or veracity to the information contained in flyer, I am surprised that the DA has not yet issued a formal statement clarifying the publication’s legitimacy or otherwise. I am equally surprised that the governing party has not yet issued a statement on the matter”.
