IFP Extends Condolences on Passing of Irvin “DJ Amen” Sihlophe

Nov 10, 2023 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in KwaZulu-Natal is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Mr Irvin Sihlophe, a respected veteran in KZN. Known as DJ Amen, he was a legendary radio sports presenter, producer, and journalist.

Mr Sihlophe’s death is a significant loss not only for uKhozi FM and his family but for the entire nation and KZN province. He was a remarkable talent, and his absence leaves a void.

He started his radio career at Radio Khwezi FM, showcasing his passion for radio from the beginning. Progressing from hosting a Christian show to becoming a sports presenter and journalist at SABC uKhozi FM, Mr Sihlophe demonstrated his deep love for the art of radio.

Known for treating all listeners with love and respect, he also worked with government departments and municipalities in various capacities. His dedication extended to sports development, especially for the youth in townships and rural areas.

Mr Sihlophe’s positive impact and kindness touched many hearts, and his humility was appreciated by those who knew him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues at SABC (especially uKhozi FM), and all the people in the province who were touched by his presence.
