On behalf of the IFP, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to the friends, family and loved ones of veteran journalist Ben Said.

The news of Ben’s untimely passing was met with shock and deep sadness today.

South Africa owes Ben a great debt of gratitude for his ability to break stories which reached millions of people and touched millions of lives.

I have come to know Ben personally over the years and I am certain that all South Africans and in particular his colleagues and the media fraternity at large share our sentiments that we have lost a talented and respected giant.

The IFP’s sincerest condolences are extended to his wife Nicky and his daughters Lily and Bella.

May his soul rest in peace.
