The IFP extends its heartfelt special wishes to all South African mothers who make up the moral fibre of our society and are our pillars of strength. Millions of women face some of the harshest realities and we must extend our sincerest gratitude to all mothers who are raising the next generation of future leaders despite their circumstances.
On this day, we remember all mothers who have sacrificed their lives in our struggle for freedom but who have also under severe circumstances tried to prevent and reduce the prevalence of mother to child transmission of HIV/Aids.
Most women still bare the brutal burnt of gender discrimination, gender -based violence, human trafficking and single-parent-headed households.
The IFP’s fight for a more just and equitable society in which the rights of all women, the elderly and vulnerable groups in our society are upheld and protected.
We wish all mothers of Mzansi a splendid day. Indeed, Mother’s Day is every day.
