The Inkatha Freedom Party says former KZN MEC of Finance, Ms Ina Cronje must also be held accountable for the North Sea Jazz Festival that did not happened.
“All these projects started when Ina Cronje was an MEC of Finance in 2013. Therefore, she must also be held accountable. Mr Mike Mabuyakhulu must not be singled out in this issue because there are many people involved.
In the “Rocking the Boat” Report it was alleged that former MEC Ina Cronje had paid millions of rand of public funds for private jets to take part in Air Shows thereby promoting white supremacy. The public need answers as what purpose Treasury purports to serve in running air shows,” said IFP Leader in the KZN Legislature, Mr Blessed Gwala MPL.
“We even pointed to a White cabal that is running the KZN Treasury but it would appear that MEC Scott is protecting certain individuals within Treasury. Therefore, all those involved in this matter the law must take it is course. Corruption undermines government and threatens security. We must send a clear message that corrupt leaders will not be tolerated. Corrupt leaders need to hear that the message people will no longer tolerate their behaviour. We must not let the corrupt get away with it,” continued Mr Gwala.
“We were not taken seriously even by the media when raising issues about this matter. MEC Scott has been exposed on how she tried to sweep alleged corruption involving her department under the carpet. Since taking office, MEC Scott has promised to run a clean ship and root out corruption and wasteful expenditure, but she has not lived up to her promise,” concluded Mr Gwala.
