IFP is Opposed to Government’s ‘Pro-Palestine’ Stance Over Ms Leila Khaled

Feb 10, 2015 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party expresses its grave concern and opposition to the recent moves by the State and Parliament to embrace pro-Palestinian     activist, Ms Leila Khaled.

IFP spokesperson on International Relations, Mr Albert Mncwango, MP, said, ”The Inkatha Freedom Party has always supported a two state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The recent move by government to welcome Ms Khaled to South Africa and then subsequent invitation by Parliament to Ms Khaled to attend at the SONA can only be interpreted as full government partisanship and bias in favour of Palestine. We cannot and will not endorse this reckless stance by government and call upon Parliament to immediately extend the same courtesy and high level invitation to a representative from the State of Israel.”

The IFP stands by its conviction that the right of Israel to existence and self-determination must be protected under international law. So should the independence and self-determination of the Palestinian people.
