IFP KZN Applauds Arrest in Sithole Murder Case

Feb 20, 2024 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) commends the South African Police Service (SAPS) for their swift action in apprehending a suspect linked to the murder of the IFP Mbabazane interim district secretary, Mthokozisi Sithole.

Last Thursday, 15 February 2024, one suspect was arrested by SAPS in Weenen in connection with the heinous crime.

The suspect briefly appeared at the Escort Magistrate Court yesterday and is scheduled to appear again on Friday 23 February 2024.

IFP KZN Chairperson and Premier Candidate, Cllr Thami Ntuli, has applauded the work of the police in this case.

However, the IFP in KZN has urged investigators to ensure that a thorough investigation is done, so that all those responsible for Sithole’s murder – including the mastermind behind the heinous act – are brought to justice.

In the wake of this tragedy, the IFP once more calls for peace, unity, and respect for human life.

As a Party, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of a just society where the safety and well-being of all citizens are safeguarded and respected.

We call on the community to cooperate fully with the authorities and to assist in any way possible to ensure that justice is served.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones of Mthokozisi Sithole during this difficult time.
