Once again, the IFP has lived up to its uBuntu-Botho principle and extended its helping hand to a grieving family in Samungu area, eShowe, North of KwaZulu-Natal. The IFP leadership, led by its National Chairperson, Mr Blessed Gwala, handed over groceries, clothing and financial assistance to Gazu family, whose daughter was allegedly killed by her boyfriend. Snenhlanhla Zulu (27), was allegedly murdered in cold blood by her lover, who later absconded from the police holding cells in Mandeni police station. Her body, with multiple wounds, was found in a field on route to a bush, where he is suspected to have planned to throw her body so as to hide the evidence.
Accompanied by local IFP King Cetshwayo District leadership, women and youth leadership – both national and provincial – Gwala lambasted men for their unbecoming behaviour and the killing of women. He said men have become monsters, instead of being the family’s protectors.
The deceased is survived by 17 family members, including her wheelchair-bound grandmother, Mrs Fikile Gazu (75).
Zulu is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday (tomorrow), at her home cemetery. The IFP leadership will be in attendance at her funeral service.
