IFP MARKS WORLD AIDS DAY IN UMKHANYAKUDE

Nov 29, 2019 | Press Releases

MEDIA ADVISORY

On Sunday, 1 December 2019, the IFP joins millions of South Africans and the global community in marking World Aids Day.

IFP President, Velenkosini Hlabisa MPL will address the community of Jozini at the IFP uMkhanyakude District Rally. The IFP in marking World Aids Day will announce steps that it will take to commit to creating awareness across the country.

The party’s 16 Days of Activism campaign in calling on South Africans to Stop Violence Against Women and Children coincides with the many challenges faced and the rising prevalence of HIV/AIDS among women, young girls and vulnerable communities, in particularly in rural constituencies where access to information, health-care and social-services remain limited.

An estimated 7.9 million South Africans are living with HIV/AIDS. KwaZulu-Natal remains the province with the highest number of people living with HIV in our country.

Too many lives have been lost. One life, is one too many. We believe that, together, we can all play our role in creating awareness to stop the stigma and to contribute to halting the growing number of South Africans infected by HIV/AIDS.

Media are invited to attend.
