IFP Mourns the Passing of Dr Titus Tito Mboweni

Oct 14, 2024 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party is deeply saddened by the passing of Former Minister of Labour (1994 – 1998) and Finance (2018 – 2021) and Governor of the Reserve Bank, Dr Titus Tito Mboweni a distinguished son of the soil, who served South Africa with dedication and integrity.

As part of the Class of 1994 GNU that ushered South Africa into a new era, Minister Mboweni was instrumental in fostering national reconciliation, social cohesion and dignity in the work space through labour law reforms.

His contributions to our country’s economic development, during his tenure as Minister and Governor of the Reserve Bank, will be one to tell generations about.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and the country at large for we have lost a patriot and a servant of the people par excellence.

May his memory be a blessing and inspiration to us all.
