The Inkatha Freedom Party notes the threats made by the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal to fight their loss in the Nquthu local municipality after the IFP trounced the ANC and won with a clear majority in the recent by-elections.
“It is unfortunate that the ANC is make threats instead of concentrating in healing their wounds after their humiliating defeat in the by-elections. We hear the ANC saying that the ANC will not get rest until they govern the Nquthu Local municipality. The ANC needs to grow up and accept that people have lost trust in them. They will be fighting a losing battle because the IFP will ensure that people are aware of the ANC stunts in trying to lure them. We won’t allow their utterances to distract us from being the Servants of the people of Nquthu. We will be focused on ensuring that people get the maximum service delivery from the competent IFP new Political leadership assisted by the efficient administration,” said the IFP Provincial Secretary, Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa.
“We guarantee that the IFP Mayor, all councilors and officials within the municipality will perform to the best of their abilities in ensuring that the municipality deliver to mandate of our people and stay intact in leading Nquthu. The people of Nquthu have placed their trust in the IFP and we will not let them down. We will ensure clean governance and efficient service delivery to the citizens of the municipality. The people of Nquthu spoke through the ballot box, therefore as the IFP we will ensure that we respond to their needs at the earliest convenience and constantly give feedback to keep our people informed of developments in the Municipality ” continued Mr Hlabisa.
“We will welcome and engage the constructive opposition from the ANC. We will not entertain desperation that might distruct us from the good course of Nquthu.
The IFP invites all councilors from other parties to work with us and uplift the lives of our people,” concluded Mr Hlabisa.
