IFP Notes Appointment of New Eskom Group CEO

Dec 9, 2023 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) notes Mr Dan Marokane’s appointment as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eskom.

The appointment announced by Public Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan, does not provide South Africans with any form of relief as rolling blackouts continue to disrupt many sectors of our society.

The appointment of the new Eskom CEO is much like a case of Deja Vu for the country. It is a road we have travelled many a time before.

Thus, the appointment of Mr Dan Marokane is simply noted.

We believe the hype surrounding his appointment is not warranted. Only results will tell whether his appointment will result in progress or not.

We wish him well in his new responsibilities. The future prosperity of the country and the economy now rests on his shoulders.

For the sake of our country, may he be successful.
