Ahead of the 2019 National and Provincial Elections the Inkatha Freedom Party has set into motion a process to review its policies.
The National Campaign Committee met in April 2018, to amongst other things consider the development of the IFP 2019 Manifesto and determined that a policy review is needed for the Party to best, and pragmatically, respond to the prevailing present day realities of South Africans.
The IFP is committed to a People Centred Manifesto and accordingly we will call on all South Africans to make submissions, ideas and suggestions to the IFP to enhance the policy review process.
Roadshows and listening campaigns will be embarked upon to broaden the scope of views and also enable every South African to have a say.
Five Policy Working Committees (PWCs) consisting of National Council Members (the Party’s highest decision making body in between Conferences), MP’s, MPL’s and Councillors have been established to drive the policy review process. The first Policy Plenary will meet at the end of the July to finalise the discussion documents.
The core values of the IFP- Freedom, Unity in Diversity and Solidarity form the foundation for the IFP policies as we pursue our vision for South Africa wherein we want a just, prosperous and moral society where the injustices of the past are a corrected and prospects of the future are enhanced for all South Africans.
Experts, scholars and specialists in various fields will be brought on board to assist the process.
We will keep South Africans abreast of all processes of the policy review as this is a South African process.
