The IFP has learnt with great shock and sorrow about the passing of Mondli Cele, midfielder for Maritzburg United football club and SABC Sports presenter Deliwe Ngwenya on Sunday the 17th of January 2016 in a tragic motor vehicle crash.
In this moment of national loss, the IFPs spokesperson on Sports and Recreation, as well as Transport Mr KP Sithole, MP would like to on behalf of the IFP, express his heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and colleagues well as the entire sports and journalism fraternity. We sincerely share in your pain, and pray that you are comforted in this time of great loss.
We urge drivers to be vigilant and careful on our roads when driving a motor vehicle, just last week the IFP was horrified because of the high deaths on our roads. The numbers speak for themselves, a total of 1755 road related deaths in the short holiday period. We again ask that the Minister of Transport, Minister Dipuo Peters see to it that there is greater visible policing on our roads; this must be a 365 day per year practice.
