IFP Rejects Fake, Malicious Post Being Circulated on Social Media

Sep 2, 2022 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has taken note of a malicious post being circulated on social media by somebody seeking to do the IFP harm. The post in question implies that the IFP is attempting to use His Majesty the King for political gain.

As the IFP, we have always maintained – and respected – that His Majesty, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, is above politics.

The IFP has always stood in support of Traditional Leaders and the institution of traditional leadership, and, even before elections, have fought tirelessly for the recognition of the Monarchy. The IFP has always been proudly in support of His Majesty the King, the Royal Family and Traditional Leaders.

However, let us state clearly: we have never sought to abuse this institution for political purposes.

Further, as regards the social media post that is currently circulating and seeking to damage the IFP and its credibility: we reject this post in its entirety as malicious, harmful and a poor attempt to inflict damage.

We are currently working to locate the author of this post and if successful, will demand that they delete it immediately, and issue an apology.
