IFP Saddened by Passing of Gauteng Provincial Legislature Member, Honourable Mr Joe Mpisi, MPL

May 15, 2023 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is devastated to learn of the passing of the Member of Gauteng Provincial Legislature, Honourable Mr Joe Mpisi MPL. On behalf of the IFP Gauteng, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to Mr Mpisi’s family, his friends and fellow Caucus comrades in the ANC.

Hon. Mpisi served the people of Gauteng well as a member of several Committees in the Legislature including: as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Education, and as an ordinary Member of the Finance and e-Government Committees. He served with admirable humility, professionalism and commitment.

The Honourable Mpisi will be remembered as a compassionate and sharp-minded person, who never shied away from the responsibility of leadership.  This was seen in his stern ability to hold departments to account, urging them to fulfil their mandates and improve service delivery standards in the province. He continued to do this until his untimely demise.

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature and the people of Gauteng are left poorer without him. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
