The IFP in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature sends its sincere condolences to the Tshabalala family – and the whole South African entertainment industry – on the loss of one of its favourite sons. Tokollo Tshabalala, 45, son of the renowned soccer magnate, Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala, reportedly passed away today.
Magesh – as he was affectionately known by peers in music industry – will be remembered for his much-loved tunes, such as “Number One Tsotsi”.
Before going solo, he was a member and co-founder of much the celebrated music outfit, the award-winning TKZee, which kept South Africa up on its feet and dancing in the early 2000s. The IFP honours this fallen hero and music legend. Our music industry is much poorer without the voice and the rhymes of this son of the soil, particularly as South Africa is still reeling from the recent loss of hip-hop sensation, Ricky Ricky.
May Magesh rest in perfect peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
