IFP Statement: Changes in Msinga Local Municipality

At its meeting on Monday, 28 November 2022, the IFP NEC resolved to recall the Mayor of uMsinga Local Municipality, Cllr Mletheni Ndlovu.

On Monday, 5 December 2022, the NEC met with Cllr Ndlovu and communicated its decision, and Cllr Ndlovu has duly resigned.

The Party thanks Cllr Ndlovu for his service during his tenure as Mayor.

The following changes arise:

Cllr FJ Sikhakhane, the Speaker of UMzinyathi District Municipality, is redeployed to uMsinga Local Municipality to take up the position of Mayor.

Cllr Tyson Kunene of uMsinga is deployed as the Speaker of UMzinyathi District Municipality.

The Political Oversight Committee (POC) will facilitate the implementation of these decisions.

The IFP wishes these new leaders well in the execution of their duties.
