The IFP is saddened to announce the passing of IFP National Council Member and Stalwart Mr Senzo Mfayela (63).
Mr Mfayela passed away in hospital after a long illness on Sunday, 16 February 2025.
Mchoboza was IFP through-and-through, until the end.
He joined the IFP in 1976 and grew up in the ranks of the IFP Youth Brigade. He went on to work in the Office of the Chief Minister of the KwaZulu Government in 1982.
He then moved to work at Inkatha Institute as a researcher under the guidance of the late Prof Lawrence Schlemmler.
He was then dispatched to be the IFP Representative in Bonn, Germany in the late 1980’s and upon his return he was elected to the National Assembly in 1994 where he served until 1999.
He then ventured into business, but remained firmly rooted in the IFP.
At the IFP of his passing he was the CEO of the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Foundation.
The IFP has lost a distinguished and loyal leader who served with honour and integrity.
He was a mediator par excellence and a wealth of wisdom.
Uwile umuthi omkhulu. Sife Olwembiza
The IFP conveys its sincerest condolences to the Mfayela family and friends.
