IFP Strongly Condemns #KessieNair’s Racial Attack on President Ramaphosa

Sep 19, 2018 | Press Releases

The IFP condemns in the strongest possible terms the egregious display of racial hatred by Durban businessman #KessieNair on his remarks towards President Cyril Ramaphosa in a Facebook video today.

His remarks are deplorable, divisive, demeaning and outright racist. We note that the South African Police Service will investigate this case together with a filed complaint to the South African Human Rights Commission.

It seems that Mr Nair is clearly aware of the violations in his speech, as he stated “being imprisoned” for the so-called “truth”.

We hope that the law enforcement authorities and the justice system will expeditiously deal with this case.

South Africa is made up of many different cultures, groups, races, religions, communities and peoples. None of these is more important than any other, and our strength lies in the unity of our people.

Mr Nair’s racist rant goes against the core value of unity in diversity we stand for as a country and against the values of enshrined in our democratic Constitution.
