IFP Takes a Stand Against Corruption

Sep 10, 2024 | Press Releases

The IFP in the KZN Legislature welcomes the fight against corruption and demands accountability. We applaud the KZN Department of Public Works’ plan to introduce a transparent tender procurement system, complete with recordings of all interviews. However, we believe more needs to be done to combat corruption, including:

  • Blacklisting companies that have irregularly benefited from state contracts
  • Recovering monies lost to corruption
  • Thorough vetting of contractors and job applicants

We demand transparency that cuts through corruption like a blowtorch. The IFP has always advocated for:

  • Transparency in government
  • Merit-based appointments
  • An end to comradeship-based hiring

No more secrets, no more deals behind closed doors, no more impunity! We won’t tolerate:

  • Tender manipulation
  • Poor workmanship
  • Irregular payments
  • Incompetent officials earning fat salaries while failing to deliver

Only contractors with a spotless record deserve government business. We demand:

  • Fair competition
  • No shady deals
  • An end to construction mafias

The IFP supports KZN Premier Hon. Thami Ntuli’s call for accountability and leadership with integrity. It’s time to:

  • Name and shame corrupt officials
  • Prosecute those doing business with the state in cahoots with corrupt service providers

No more kid gloves!
