Apr 23, 2019 | Press Releases

Note to Editors: For Information Purposes

Greenpeace volunteers launched a petition calling on South Africa’s four main political parties – the IFP, ANC, DA & EFF – to ban certain single-use plastic items.

Nearly 11,000 people have signed it and the petition will be handed over to the respective parties on Wednesday 24 April.

Join us as IFP’s Chief Whip in Parliament and Spokesperson on Environment, Narend Singh MP receives the petition tomorrow at 10:00 at the IFP Head Office, 2 Durban Place, Durban CBD.

The IFP is the only main political party to have adopted a proposal to ban single-use plastic as part of our manifesto.
