IFP: Transformation At SARB Still A Necessary Debate

Aug 15, 2017 | Press Releases

Whilst the Inkatha Freedom Party fully abides by the court ruling handed down in the North Gauteng High Court this morning which set aside the Public Protectors prescribed remedial action to SARB to change its constitutional mandate, it maintains that a frank and necessary political discussion about the role of the SARB in South Africa, is a discussion that must be had sooner rather than later.

IFP spokesperson on Finance, Hon. Mkhuleko Hlengwa, MP, said,” Whilst we welcome the decision of the court, we maintain that a frank political discussion on the role of the SARB in present day South Africa is a discussion that must begin,”

“Achieving progressive and sustained socioeconomic transformation in South Africa will the full support of all public entities that fulfil public interest roles, which includes the SARB,” concluded Hlengwa, MP.
