The IFP Welcomes Release of Nominations for Office of Public Protector

Jun 29, 2016 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party welcomes the release of the names of the 59 nominee incumbents for the office of the Public Protector.

Professor CT Msimang, MP, Inkatha Freedom Party member on the parliamentary ad hoc committee mandated with the task of overseeing the appointment process of the new Public Protector said, “The IFP is satisfied with the skills, variety and good standing of the nominees, as well as the transparency of the process in finding a new Public Protector,”

“It is important that our citizenry participate in the nomination process as much as possible, and towards this end we are fully supportive of live television broadcasts of the interview process,”

“The current incumbent has served the Office with the utmost grace, aplomb and professionalism. Adv. Madonsela has been a veritable iron fist in a velvet glove, and we look forward to appointing her a worthy successor. The people of South Africa deserve nothing less,” concluded Msimang, MP.
