IFPYB welcomes KZN Education Department school bullying intervention

Sep 8, 2020 | Press Releases

The IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB) welcomes the KwaZulu-Natal Education Department’s intervention, following the horrific incident of a video of school bullying in the Zululand District that went viral.

We extend our support to the KZN Education Department for swiftly managing this incident, and for taking the necessary steps to assist all school learners involved, as well as those who have been traumatised.

The IFPYB affirms that bullying has no place in our society and that any form of violence must be condemned in the strongest terms.

We will follow up on this matter and closely monitor the progress following this incident, as well as any other incidents of school bullying, violence and intimidation.

The IFP believes that a culture of learning, responsibility and authority in schools needs to be promoted. Discipline and orderly classrooms should be maintained.

Parents and guardians of school learners must be assured that when they send their loved ones to school that they will be protected, and that the environment is conducive to teaching and learning, as schools are to be safe havens for learners.
