Today, the Inkatha Freedom Party joins the nation in commemorating Workers’ Day—a day that honours the sacrifices, struggles, and enduring spirit of South Africa’s working men and women.
Workers’ Day is more than a public holiday; it is a solemn reminder of the historic battles fought by generations of workers for fair wages, safe working conditions, and human dignity. It is also a day to reflect on the challenges still faced by millions of South Africans who continue to suffer under the weight of unemployment, inequality, and exploitation.
As the IFP, we salute every worker—whether in offices, factories, farms, or informal sectors—who contribute to building our economy and supporting their families. We also acknowledge those who are still seeking the dignity of employment, and we recommit ourselves to creating conditions that foster job creation, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
The IFP has always believed that empowering workers is essential to building a just and prosperous society. We therefore call on government, business, and labour to work together in pursuit of policies that stimulate inclusive growth and ensure that no worker is left behind.
On this Workers’ Day, let us renew our commitment to solidarity, dignity, and economic justice for all.
