- The meeting was frank and cordial, and matters were dealt with satisfactorily, with both sides committing to ensuring free, fair and equitable coverage.
The IFP NEC:
- Welcomes the outcomes of the IFP-SABC bilateral meeting, with the caveat that the proof of the pudding is in the eating,

- Calls for a judicial review of the findings of the Seriti Commission
Noting that:
- There is ongoing instability and protests of students at Rhodes University following the release of the #RUreferenceList
The IFP NEC:
- Calls on the University Management and the SRC to continue engaging in a constructive manner which will ensure that the core functions of learning and teaching are not compromised,
- Condemns all forms of women abuse, harassment and discrimination,
- Calls upon the law enforcement agencies to investigate the serious allegations of rape of students and to provide additional security for students, and

The IFP NEC:
- Expressed its concern at the slow pace to contain the situation at the hostel,
- Sends its condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved at the hostel,
- Considers the call of the hostel residents for UN intervention to alleviate their plight as a serious indictment on the government’s capacity to deal with this situation and therefore
- Calls on President Zuma to deploy the army to the Glebelands Hostel as a matter of urgency and prevent any further loss of life.
