The Inkatha Freedom Party notes with grave concern the fact that the President of the Republic of South Africa, President Cyril Ramaphosa appears to have misled the National Assembly during his last parliamentary questions and answers session.
IFP National spokesperson, Mr Mkhuleko Hlengwa, MP, said, “The President, through the office he holds, must be beyond reproach in all of his actions. Honesty, Integrity, transparency and accountability are the foundation stones upon which a such high office should be built. President Ramaphosa through his apparent bad faith or negligence misled the members of the national assembly during his last questions and answers session and for that he should be accountable not only to the national assembly, but to the people of South Africa, at whose will and behest he serves,”
“The IFP calls upon the speaker of Parliament, the Honourable Baleka Mbete, to immediately refer this matter for investigation and possible sanction in terms of the existing parliamentary procedures for such breaches of trust and good faith by President Ramaphosa. This is indeed a prolific stain on the President’s much touted ‘New Dawn’”, concluded Hlengwa, MP.
