Media Advisory: IFP Leadership to Address Mini Rally in Support of Community Substance Abuse Recovery Programmes

Oct 22, 2021 | Elections, Press Releases

IFP National Campaign Committee Chairperson, Hon, Narend Singh, MP, will be addressing a mini rally in Newhaven and Malundi Township on Saturday, 23 October 2021.

The IFP is committed to tackling the scourge of substance abuse, as well as gender-based violence (GBV), which ravage so many of our communities. We appreciate the impact of substance abuse on families, and how substance and alcohol abuse are often directly linked to GBV.

The IFP is committed to finding solutions and offering support to community-based recovery programmes – such as Laqhakaza Iphara, an NGO committed to assisting those recovering from addiction, particularly in rural areas and townships.

Hon. Singh will be unpacking ways in which local government can offer support, and how IFP-led Municipalities plan to assist residents facing these issues.

To ensure the health and safety of all guests and supporters, all attendees will be required to adhere to strict Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
