Jul 7, 2023 | Press Releases

The IFP National Parliamentary Caucus, supported by IFP Gauteng Caucus, will conduct a series of key oversight visits in Johannesburg (Soweto) and Tshwane (Hammanskraal) on Thursday, July 13, and Sunday, July 16, 2023.

The purpose of the oversight visits is to assess challenges related to the delivery of essential services, such as safety and security, water, healthcare, SASSA grants, home affairs services, and the overall living conditions in these townships.

Several stops will be made in places such as SAPS Moroka, Home Affairs Maponya Mall, Home Affairs Orlando, the Hammanskraal Community Centre, as well as SAPS Tembisa, to listen to community members’ concerns, which the IFP will bring to the attention of the National Assembly and the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for possible government intervention.

On the days between the Johannesburg, and Tshwane and Ekurhuleni oversight visits, the IFP National Parliamentary Caucus will host a two-day Health and Welfare Summit, from 14 – 15 July 2023, at the Monte Casino Pivot Conference Centre.

The Summit, which will be addressed by various experts in the health and water industries, will provide an opportunity to discuss the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill, as well as ongoing water and social service delivery challenges, among others.
