Media Alert: IFP to Hold Press Conference Re KZN Legislature Precinct

Mar 6, 2022 | Press Releases

On Tuesday, 8 March 2022, IFP President and Leader of the Official Opposition in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon. Velenkosini Hlabisa, MPL, will hosting a press conference in Durban.

As President Hlabisa stated on 25 February 2022, during his SOPA debate, the IFP remains in support of the KZN Legislature’s 1994 resolution to use both Ulundi and Pietermaritzburg for the work of the KZN Legislature.

The IFP will be reiterating its call for “the fair and balanced utilisation of both Ulundi and Pietermaritzburg”, as well as for the province to exercise prudence relating to unnecessary expenditure. Under the current circumstances, using “the already stretched financial resources of the Province for an unnecessary precinct in Pietermaritzburg must be reviewed”.

He will be joined by the entire IFP Caucus of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature.

There will be a Q&A session.

Date: 08 March 2022
Venue: IFP Head Office, Durban
Time: 10h00
