More Arrests Needed in Cases Related to the Killing of Amakhosi

Dec 14, 2021 | Press Releases

The IFP applauds the arrest of three suspects in connection with the killing of acting iNkosi, Mzomuhle Zondi, who was gunned down at his Nkandla homestead last month.

We commend the Provincial Investigation Unit, under the command of Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who left no stone unturned in their investigation, which led to the swift arrest.

However, the IFP would like to encourage the South African Police Service (SAPS) to apply the same tactics to outstanding cases related to the killing of amakhosi.

We are concerned that some dockets related to the assassination of amakhosi have been left to gather dust, with no breakthroughs or arrests.

We call upon Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi to commission an extensive investigation – with an intention to prosecute – into all these cold cases.
