Every South African has hope for the New Year. For some it is hope born out of faith; but for many it is simply the conviction that things can only improve from this low point we have reached.
The closing of 2015 brings with it the feeling that something new is possible. We long to see more than a respite from hardship, but an actual turning of fortunes for our nation. 2016 offers us the opportunity to create that change.
Our hard won democracy has brought us the gift of choice. In 2016, through our votes in the Local Government Elections, we can choose our future. We can bring change on a massive scale, from the level of governance closest to our homes. We can save South Africa from the ground up.
I believe that is good reason for hope. On behalf of the Inkatha Freedom Party, I encourage us all to act on behalf of South Africa. Let us create that happy new year.
