On behalf of the Inkatha Freedom Party, we express our deepest condolences to the Royal Household of the AmaRharhabe and to the Zulu Royal Family, on the tragic passing of Her Majesty Queen Noloyiso Sandile, yesterday morning.

The pain of this tragedy is difficult to witness. It has affected us deeply. Queen Noloyiso was a leader of integrity, guiding rural communities towards development, while honouring traditional values. Her death will be mourned by many who admired her commitment to serving the People.

Her Majesty distinguished herself as a leader and epitomised selflessness and fortitude in the execution of her duties and responsibilities in service to the People. She was a servant leader.

In this time of a global pandemic, the passing of prominent individuals gives us all pause for thought. We must take seriously the words of the Minister of Health, spoken yesterday in the National Assembly. The storm of Covid-19 is upon us. It will not spare anyone, even royalty.

We honour Her Majesty Queen Noloyiso for leading the fight against this pandemic. In her memory, let us become more vigilant, taking every precaution to protect ourselves and those around us.

May Her Majesty the Queen rest in peace.
