Phiyega Must Go

Aug 2, 2015 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party reiterates its call that National Police Commissioner, Riah Phiyega, must resign or be removed from office.

Inkatha Freedom Party spokesperson on Police, Mr Albert Mncwango, MP, said,” The National Police Commissioner has only one option, that is to resign with immediate effect. Should she refuse then the President should step in and have her removed from office”

”Our SAPS services have been beleaguered for far too long with political appointments to the office of National Police Commissioner. The office requires career police men or women. President Zuma must ensure that in future only competent career SAPS personnel are appointed to this key position. This is the only way forward and in the best interests of the SAPS,” concluded Mncwango.
